PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night at Port City Raceway, Garth Kasiner would pick up a fourth place finish in A-Class action as he and his team opted to sit out of the Outlaw feature with their engine needing some work.
In ‘A’ Class action, Kasiner would line the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products machine up on the front row of his heat race. Getting the jump on Emma Hughes, Kasiner would take the win and find himself in the third row to start the 20-lap feature event.
When the action came to life, Kasiner would quickly put the Vogt’s Performance Auto and Air/Irritec P1 Drip Tape/Keizer Wheels machine in the fourth spot as he cased after the race leaders before an early red flag halted the action.
Following another red on the restart, Kasiner would make quick work when the action went back green as he jumped into third just prior to the race being slowed again.
Continuing to run in third, a late restart would hamper Kaisner as he would come under attack by a trio of cars. Able to fend off two of them, Kasiner would give up the third spot as he skipped back to fourth where he would go on to finish.
Kicking his night off also competing in the Outlaw Class, Kasiner would advance from sixth to finish fifth in his heat race where he was then scheduled to start ninth in the feature event when his team opted to skip the race with their engine not being right.
