PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in the Turnpike Challenge in Oklahoma City, OK overt the weekend, Garth Kasiner would go to school against some stout 600 competition as he continues to transition into the Outlaw-Class.
With some of the biggest names in the sport taking part in the event, Kasiner opened his weekend up by charging to third from his sixth starting position in his heat race aboard the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products machine.
Despite earning valuable passing points in his heat, the Five Points, CA native would still find himself in one of the twin semi’s as he looked for a way into the opening night feature event.
From his second row starting position in the semi, Kasiner would lay down some great laps as he battled with Blake Carrick, and eventual Turnpike Challenge champion, Austin Schaefer.
Finishing third, Kasiner successfully punch his ticket into the feature event where he would take the green flag from the 20th starting position. As the track became a little more racy in the feature after holding a ton of moisture in the early goings, Kasiner would make up some ground and continue to strut his stuff as he would close his night out with a 14th place finish.
Finding himself in the third row of his Saturday night heat race, Kasiner would have some issues as debris would come into contact with his car and dislodge his nose wing but was still able to hang on and finish fifth.
Again finding himself is a semi, Kasiner would take the green flag from the second row as he would again look to extend his night. With only three transfer spots up for grabs, Kasiner would battle hard with Trevin Littleton as he sat on the outside looking in.
Giving Littleton everything he had for the final transfer position, Kasiner would come up just short and his Turnpike Challenge would end with a fourth place finish in his semi.
