PETERSEN MEDIA: Friday night at Arkoma Speedway, Garth Kasiner was able to break a dry spell and record his third feature event win of the 2018 season which would also be his 100th career feature event win.
Checking back in at Arkoma Speedway after a third place finish a couple of weeks back, Kasiner would line the West Hills Oil/CS9/SRP backed No. 21G machine up on the front row for heat race action.
When the green flag dropped, Kasiner jumped on the throttle, as he was able to get out front and set sail. Racing to the win, Kasiner would move into the feature event where he would line up on the pole.
As the race came to life, Kasiner was hard on the throttle as he jumped out to the early lead and began pulling away from the rest of the field. Looking extremely strong early, Kasiner would see the yellow flag ultimately slow him down and re-rack the field.
Back underway, Kasiner would put his right rear in the moisture that was still in the middle of the race track as he again simply left the field in his wake. Turning in a dominant performance, the only things to slow Kasiner on this night were a couple of scattered caution flags though he would still capture his 100th career feature event win.
Saturday night the scene shifted to Port City Raceway in Tulsa, OK where Kasiner would line the Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto and Air/Irritec P1 Drip Tape/Keizer Wheels machine up in the second row of his heat race.
Slipping into fourth when the race came to life, a narrow surface would see the field run this heat single file and Kasiner would finish fourth. By way of his finish, the Five Points, CA native would advance into the feature event where he would line up in the sixth starting position.
On this night, Kasiner would slip into fifth in the early stages of the race before the first caution would bunch the field back up. After a couple of stoppages plagued the restart, Kasiner would fall back to sixth when the race came back under fire.
With the field still jockeying for position, a lap later Kasiner’s rear bumper would get hooked and it would result in his machine spinning to a stop in turn two.
Relentlessly working the high side of the speedway once mired in traffic, Kasiner would be able to pick up a few positions, though the top would eventually become too far around.
Forced to dip low and tuck in line, Kasiner would lose his night out with a 13th place finish.
