Greg DeCaires Fifth Again at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Continuing to vie for the Placerville Speedway championship, Greg DeCaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team picked up a fifth place finish at the ¼ mile for the second consecutive weekend.

Timing the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Thompson’s Auto Center/RedHawk Casino backed No. 4SA machine in fifth fastest in time trials on a slick Placerville Speedway surface, DeCaires would line up in the second row of his heat race.

Putting together a good run per usual in heat race action, DeCaires would pick up a second place finish aboard the NAAKE Suspension/A.R.T. Speed Equipment/King Racing Products backed machine.

Earning a spot in the redraw, the Elk Grove, CA pilot would pull the seven pill and find himself in the fourth row of the 25-lap contest. With crews doing a bit of track work to the surface prior to the green, it would provide a nicer track for the feature event.

Picking off a couple of positions over the course of the race, DeCaires would find himself in the fifth position as the race drew to a close. A couple of late cautions which actually extend the race and force a pair of green-white-checkered attempts and they would not hurt DeCaires, though he battled for fourth during the final run though he would ultimately end up with a fifth place finish at the finish line.
