Greg DeCaires Second at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to championship point racing at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night following Saturday night’s Civil War Series event, Greg DeCaires continued to run up front as he worked his way to a second place finish aboard the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Foothill 7 TV/RedHawk Casino backed No. 4SA machine.
“It was another great night for this team,” DeCaires said. “We had speed all night, and even with the track being heavy after the rain we were able to work our way up to another podium finish.”
Earning fast time honors during qualifications, the Elk Grove, CA driver would race his way to a second place finish during heat race action, and make himself eligible for the night’s redraw where the six pill would put him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.
With a rain shower blowing through the area, the track would hold the moisture, and give drivers a different surface than accustomed to at the high-banked ¼ mile for the main event.
Caution flags plagued the start of the race, but once the race got into an extended green flag run following a lap-10 restart, DeCaires would work his way into the third spot as he chased after the lead duo of Justyn Cox and Andy Gregg who battled right in front of him.
As lapped traffic came into play, things got interesting up front, just as the caution would waive on the 21st lap. With the leaders in open track, DeCaires would look to make a late race move, and would do just that following a lap 24 restart, as he got into the second spot, where he would finish on this night.
“I say it time and time again, but Dale Miller and Bill McClaren do the hard part and get this car dialed in,” DeCaires added. “This team is clicking right now, and I am hoping we are making all our great partners happy with our results.”
Greg DeCaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic, Foothill 7 TV, RedHawk Casino, Halk Equipment Rentals, NAAKE Suspension, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Frank’s Auto Body Shop, Hangtown Sheet Metal and Wesmar Racing Engines for their support.
2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 7, Wins- 3, Top-5’s-7, Top-10’s-7
ON TAP: DeCaires and the Miller Motorsports team will return to action on Saturday night as the team searches for their fourth win of the season.
