Gregg Charges To Fourth During Tribute To Al Hinds

PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night’s event at the Placerville Speedway would mark the end to the 2016 point season, and with that Andy Gregg hopes a strong run from ninth to fourth will put a stop to what was a very tough season at the ¼ mile speedway.
“With the season that we had at the Placerville Speedway, I was pretty excited with the way we ran during the Tribute to Al Hinds on Saturday night,” Andy Gregg said. “We have a couple races left at Placerville to close out the season, so hopefully with the point deal being wrapped up our bad luck will go away.”
Timing his GUTS/Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Angius and Terry LLP machine in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials, the Placerville, CA driver would finish in the third spot during his heat race.
Just missing out on a spot in the nightly redraw, Gregg would find his machine in the fifth row for the 25-lap Tribute to Al Hinds feature event. On an immaculately prepared racing surface Gregg would have no problems working his way forward as he worked around the famous high-banked red clay speedway.
Getting into the Top-Five, Gregg would find himself chasing after Steven Tiner, Greg DeCaires, and Mason Moore who battled in front of him. In traffic, Gregg would close in on Tiner for the third spot but as the fast paced race came to a close he would settle for a fourth place finish at the stripe.
“It was really a great night for our team,” Gregg added. “My guys worked hard, we had a fast car, and we were able to move forward in the feature event and come away with a good finish.”
Andy would like to thank GUTS, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Angius and Terry LLP, ARP Enterprises, Capitol Ace Hardware, New Gen Landscape, Broadband Agreements, K&N, FK Rod Ends, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, FK Shocks, Wilwood, Arnold’s For Awards, CTL Forest Management, Empire Works, Ice House Resort, Ervin Sales, EMI, Watson Cattle, Wally’s Pizza Bar, Myers and Sons Dry Wall, K&T Custom Fab, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, and Nail It Roofing for their support in 2016.
