Gregg Garners Top-10 at Placerville Speedway’s Kings Meats Night

PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Andy Gregg would combat a tough qualifying effort and ultimately end his night with a ninth-place finish.

“Qualifying was a bit of a struggle, but we really bounced back and raced well,” Andy Gregg said. “We ended with a Top-10 and we are just fine with that in the scheme of things.”

Timing in 17th fastest amongst the field of 31 checked in on Saturday night, Gregg would just narrowly miss the heat race inversion and find himself in a bit of a hole for the rest of the night.

Lining up fifth in his heat race, the Diamond Springs, CA driver would jump into the second position and put the pressure on for the top spot. If he could of inched his way forward to the lead, he would have made the redraw and really overcame the early hole. As the race played out however, Gregg would finish second and find himself in the 16th starting position in the feature.

Keeping a watchful eye on the surface as the other divisions ran their races, Gregg felt good with their game plan heading into the 25-lap finale. From the 16th starting position, Gregg was able to make some headway as he worked his way towards the Top-10.

Getting into the Top-10, Gregg would continue to search for more, as he would cap his night off with a 9th place finish.
