PETERSEN MEDIA: Coming off of a 13th place finish with the King of the West Series on Saturday night, Andy Gregg is looking forward to getting back to his home track on this week for a night of 360 action on the ¼ mile bullring.
“I thought we had a good car, and were better than a 13th place finish on with the King of the West Series, but a couple of mistakes hurt us late in the race,” Andy Gregg said.
Saturday night at Placerville Speedway 23 410 KWS Fujitsu Racing Series cars checked into the pit area and Gregg timed his GUTS/Angius and Terry LLP/Capitol Ace Hardware mount in 15th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Finishing seventh during his heat race, Gregg lined the Ice House Resort/CTL Forest Management/ARP Enterprises No. 16 up in the 15th starting position for the 30-lap feature event.
On a slick Placerville Speedway, Gregg was able to work his way forward during the feature event as he battled with DJ Netto and Dominic Scelzi fighting for position inside the Top-10.
A couple of restarts would plague the Diamond Springs, CA driver a little as he would lose some ground and fall back to 13th as he continued to battled on the slick surface.
Racing with Andy Forsberg and Justyn Cox during the race’s closing laps, Gregg would take the Ed Entz checkered flag in the 13th spot.
“We got off to a pretty good start and got up around the 10th spot,” Gregg said. “A couple restarts didn’t go our way and I made a couple of small mistakes and it kept us back in the 13th spot.”
Andy would like to thank GUTS, Angius and Terry LLP, Capitol ACE Hardware, Ice House Resort, CTL Forest Management, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Broadband Agreements, Russo Insurance, Kelly Moore Paints, Cal Pro Paint and Construction, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, and MF Inc. for their support in 2017.
ON TAP: Gregg will get right back to action this Saturday night as he is set to return to Placerville Speedway.
2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-6, Wins- 0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-0
