PETERSEN MEDIA: Andy Gregg had a very strong Mike’s Hard Lemonade No. 14r machine on Saturday night that saw the Placerville, CA driver work from fifth to second in the 25-lap feature event.

“We had an awesome racecar in the feature event, and were really coming on strong at the end of the race,” Gregg explained.

With 27 cars on hand at the high-banked ¼ mile speedway, Gregg timed his Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Capitol Ace Hardware/Thompson’s Auto No. 14R machine in fourth fastest in qualifications.

Lining up third in his heat race, Gregg would maintain his position, as his third place finish put him in the feature event, and also made him eligible for the night’s redraw.

Pulling the five-pill, Gregg lined the Carroll Russell Bookkeeping/Arnold’s For Aards/Goodwin Trucking machine up in the third row of the 25-lap feature event, but he would quickly flex his muscles when the green flag waived.

Moving into the fourth spot when the race got underway, Gregg chased after Andy Forsberg, and Gregg DeCaires as the trio all flanked Mason Moore.

Moving into the third spot on the 10th lap, Gregg began reeling in Greg DeCaires, as he looked to take over the second position. The final 7 laps of the race, saw Gregg and DeCaires duel for the second spot, and it was Gregg grabbing the position.

In second with just a few markers to go, Gregg chased after Forsberg, but ran out of laps, as he crossed the stripe in the second spot.

“I wish we had more laps because I think we had something for Forsberg, but I have to congratulate him and his team on the win,” Gregg said. “We really got going towards the end and got by DeCaires in traffic, and tried going after Forsberg. I have to thank everyone for all of their hard work.”
