Gregg Victimized Again In Placerville, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA: For the second consecutive week or racing, Andy Gregg saw a possible strong finish slip from his grasps as contact with another competitor ended his night pre maturely.
“It is a bummer the way our last two races have gone,” Andy Gregg said. “My crew has worked hard and given me a really fast racecar, but we seem to have a bulls-eye on the side of our car.”
After taking a week off to let the King of the West Series take over the Placerville Speedway last week, Gregg and his GUTS/Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Angius and Terry LLP No. 16 team checked back in at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.
Getting his night kicked off of a high note, Gregg timed the Capitol Ace hardware/New Gen Landscape/K&N entry in fastest during time trials which would line him up in the second row of his heat race.
Having a tire go down before the heat came to life, Gregg would end up lining up in the back of the pack, where a sixth place finish would put him deep in the field for the 25-lap feature event.
Gridding the field form the eighth row, Gregg showed he had a strong car as he wasted no time working his way forward. Showing that he had one of the strongest cars on the track, Gregg quickly found himself in the 10th spot and looking for more by the ninth lap.
As Gregg pressured his competition, contact from another opponent’s car would again bring his night to an early end on the ninth circuit, and end what looked to be a very good night for the Placerville, CA product.
“It was a tricky track, but we were moving forward pretty well,” Gregg said. “We are all hoping that this string of bad luck is behind us, and hopefully we can pick up a finish in the weeks to come.”
Andy would like to thank GUTS, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Angius and Terry LLP, ARP Enterprises, Capitol Ace Hardware, New Gen Landscape, K&N, FK Rod Ends, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, FK Shocks, Wilwood, Arnold’s For Awards, CTL Forest Management, Empire Works, Ice House Resort, Ervin Sales, EMI, Watson Cattle, Wally’s Pizza Bar, Myers and Sons Dry Wall, K&T Custom Fab, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, and Nail It Roofing for their support in 2016.
