PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night in Placerville, CA, mechanical woes would bring DJ Netto and the Tri-C Motorsports team’s night to an early end.
“We had a good thing going on Saturday night, and my guys were doing a good job of getting me comfortable on an extremely slick surface,” Netto said. “Unfortunately we had something go haywire under the hood on the ninth lap and it ended our night early.”
Timing the Tri-C Manufacturing/Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain backed No. 3c machine in third fastest in his group during time trials, Netto would pick up the win during heat race action and advance to both the Dash, and the 40-lap feature event.
Finishing fourth in his Dash, Netto would line up in the seventh starting spot for the feature event on what was an extremely slick and tricky Placerville Speedway racing surface.
Watching how the track played out through the night, Netto would climb aboard his machine and look to take on an extremely stacked feature event line up. When the race came to life Netto would lose a few spots as his issues started to arise.
Making a few more laps, Netto would bring his machine to a stop and opt to go back to the work area to see if his crew could quickly diagnose and fix the issue.
With a big car count making for a long night, there was no guaranteed work area time and Netto would be left behind when the green flag flew and his night would come to an end.
“It is frustrating to have an issue and not be able to see if we could get it fixed,” Netto said. “I have to thank my guys for their hard work, and Clyde and Marion Lamar, as well as my family, for all of the continued support.”
