PETERSEN MEDIA- With nowhere to go on a lap eight restart Tony Gualda would get collected in a multi car pile up and it would unfortunately bring his night to an early end Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.

“It was unfortunate,” Tony Gualda said. “Cody and the guys really gave me a good car, and we were fast all night. We came form the ‘B’ and were inside the Top-Five but a restart pile up got the best of us and ended our night.”

Timing the C&M Motorsports entry in fastest out of the 24 cars entered in the event during time trials, Gualda would line up in the second row for heat race competition. When the heat came to life, Gualda would get a little tight getting into turns one and two and would give up a couple of positions and fall out of a transfer spot.

Finishing fifth, the Hollister, CA driver would be forced into the nightly semi where he would line the Moorefield Construction, Inc./Hollister Auto Parts/PitStopUSA No. 7c up on the front row. Leading the way from green to checkered, Gualda would pick up the win and move into the 25-lap feature event where he would roll off the starting grid from ninth.

Just as he has been all year, Gualda was extremely fast in the feature event. From the fifth row, the youngster would make some nice moves on the ¼ mile bullring as he quickly made his way into the Top-Five.

Getting into fourth, Gualda would chase after Andy Forsberg, and Billy Wallace until the caution flag flew on the eighth lap. When the race came back to life, trouble would ensue as multiple cars would get together making hard contact. Unfortunately Gualda would be in the fray, and the damage would end his night as he was scored 17th officially.

“It was defiantly a bummer to have issues and torn up equipment two weeks in a row,” Gualda added. “I hate it for Cody and Mandi and their team but sometimes it happens in this sport. We have a very fast car, and I am looking forward to a couple more weekends back up at Placerville Speedway.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Inc., Hollister Auto Parts, PitStopUSA, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: Gualda and C&M Motorsports are right back to work on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.
