(Petersen Media)- Debuting at the end of the 2017 season in a couple of 305ci and 360ci races, GW Racing is set for a busy 2018 schedule that will see the team work with a handful of drivers competing up and down California with the Western States Race Saver 305’s.

“As a team owner it is really exciting to see all the hard work come to life,” GW Racing’s Tim Williams said. “The 305 class in California has really made leaps and bounds over the last few years, and I am excited to be a big part of the series in 2018 with drivers like 2017 IMCA Race Saver National Champion, Marcus Thomas, Jacob Pacheco, and Eric Correia, just to name a few. It’s a nice mix of veterans and new comers, so it should be a fun season.”

Getting a good chunk of races with GW Racing in 2018 will be Jacob Pacheco. Running a bit of Ultra 4 Series Off Road Racing the last six years, and having immense success, Pacheco has teamed up with Williams to get back to his roots on dirt ovals.

“I have never had the chance to run a sprint car, but I have ran Micro’s and Karts in the past and I am really looking forward to a new challenge in 2018,” Pacheco noted. “We have put together an eight race schedule so far and I cannot be more excited. I have to thank Tim Williams for this opportunity as well as all of my friends and family for their continued support.”

GW Racing will kick the season off on February 24th in Marysville, CA during the annual Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial, and it will be Pachecho behind the wheel that night. The team is also expected to make stops in Bakersfield, CA, Hanford, CA, Tulare, CA, Watsonville, CA, and Santa Maria, CA periodically through the 2018 season.

A big event that has GW Racing as the entire 305 division excited in 2018 is a date at Las Vegas Dirt Track in Las Vegas, NV on September 13th as the series will share the spotlight with the K&N West Series on the dirt half mile.

GW Racing is geared up to have both Thomas and Pacheco in attendance for the marquee event.

“I really cannot wait to get going,” Williams added. “The way it worked last year, we got going just as the season came to an end, so this offseason has been long. A good thing about the offseason though is we were fortunate to pick up a couple additional partners that will help with our 2018 plans.”

Taking part in the GW Racing debut back in October of 2017, Marcus Thomas will once again compete with GW Racing in 2018 as he is tentatively scheduled to return to Keller Auto Speedway on two occasions in October, as well as compete in the aforementioned event in Las Vegas, NV.

“Last year I was fortunate enough to get to know Tim Williams, and had the opportunity to run his car in California in October,” Marcus Thomas said. “It is some of the nicest equipment I have ever had the chance to drive, and I am looking forward to working with him again this year. It looks like we will be in Hanford, CA a couple of times, and in Las Vegas, NV as well and I can’t wait to give it another go.”

With a few open weekends still available to run the GWR No. 95 machine, interested parties can reach Tim Williams at 916-910-5064 or via email at gwracing95@gmail.com.
