PETERSEN MEDIA- Overcoming a near catastrophe during time trials on Saturday night, Jonathan Allard had his elbows up on a tricky Placerville Speedway surface as he carved his way through the field from his 14th starting position to finish in the third spot.

“I made a huge mistake in time trials that really set us back, but Lee and Shane gave me a great car the rest of the night and we were able to come out of Placerville with a really good finish,” Jonathan Allard said. “The last couple of weekends have been refreshing and I am confident we can get this car even better.”

After making huge contact with the wall on his first lap of qualifying, Allard would end up timing the Tri-C Manufacturing/Walker Performance Filtration/ButlerBuilt No. 3c in 18th fastest.

In a bit of an early hole, Allard would work his way to a fourth place finish in his heat race and find himself in the seventh row of the 30-lap feature event.

As the race came to life, the Chico, CA wheelman worked the bottom of the speedway to perfection as he clawed his way into the Top-10.  When the caution flew on the 16th lap, Allard found himself up in the seventh spot.

The ensuing restart would be pivotal for the former KWS Champion as he was able to work his way into the Top-Five as he gave chase to Chase Johnson and Bobby McMahan who ran in front of him.

Following a lap 25 caution that involved the leader, Allard sat in the fourth spot and used the restart to get by Johnson to take over the final spot on the podium. With the caution waiving with just two laps remaining, Allard would have one final shot to improve his finishing spot, but the single file restart saw the top three get strung out and JA would end up with a third place finish.

“It was a tough field of cars and a tough track, but we were good enough to pass cars,” Allard said. “Restarts went out way and it ended up being a good night for us. The Bradway is this weekend and that is an event that means a lot to me, and I would love to win it for Clyde and Marion Lamar.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, Walker Performance Filtration, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-17, Wins-5, Top 5’s-9, Top 10’s-9.

ON TAP: Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team will again be at the Silver Dollar Speedway this coming Friday and Saturday night.
