PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back behind the wheel of her Harli White Racing No. 17w machine on Saturday night with the ASCS Red River Region at the 81 Speedway in Park City, KS, Harli White had an eventful night that ultimately saw her earn hard charger honors.
“I made a mistake after our heat race, and didn’t go to scales as my car was over heating,” Harli White explained. “It took us from a lock in spot to the B main, but we had a great car all night and it turned out okay.”
Lining her Mesilla Valley Transportation/Jerry Tucker Roustabout/Lucas Oil backed No. 17w machine up in the third row of her heat race, the Lindsay, OK native flexed her muscles early as she carved her way up to finish in the third spot.
As her machine was extremely hot at the conclusion of her heat, White stopped to add water to her radiator before heading to the scales, and she would be disqualified from her finish, and forced to tag the rear of the B Main.
Starting 11th, White would move forward as she needed to as a sixth place finish in the night’s semi, would be just what she needed to grab the final transfer position into the 25-lap feature event.
Showing the speed that she had shown all night, White was not phased starting from the tail end of the field as he worked her way forward in a hurry. Working into the Top-15, White looked for more as he battled with Jake Bubak and Alex Sewell.
In the closing laps, White would close off her Hard Charger effort by getting into the ninth spot, where she would finish.
“We were really good all night long, and I hate that I didn’t scale, and we had to make up so much ground,” White said. “We really need a win, and I feel like were close, especially if we can continue to run like this moving forward.”
