PETERSEN MEDIA- Though her Saturday night did not go off as planned, Harli White still is pleased with her overall Chili Bowl performance that saw her advance to a 14th place finish from her 24th starting spot during her preliminary night, and also receive the Jason Leffler Elbows Up Award.
“I have to thank my entire Hard 8 Racing team for all they did for me during the Chili Bowl,” White said. “It is such a tough event, and I am pleased with how the team worked, and very thankful for all they did.”
Hitting the track for her qualifying night last Thursday, White found herself in the second row of her heat race, and soon took command of the race as she looked for valuable points.
Out in front, White made a small bobble that would cost her the lead, though she would hang on to finish third, and earn a spot in one of the evening’s qualifier races.
Lining up seventh in her qualifier, White would finish in the seventh spot, and move into one of the night’s twin B Main’s, where she would line up sixth.
From her third row starting position, White eyed the fourth and final transfer position, and was able to grab the spot, and make her way to the John Christner Trucking Night feature event.
Lining up scratch on the field, the Lindsay, OK driver was very patient as she navigated the tight confines of the Tulsa Expo Center Raceway.
Driving a very smart race, White would end her night with a 14th place finish, and earn the Jason Leffler Elbows Up award.
Lining up in the fourth row of the second Saturday night C Main event, White had bad luck from the get go, as her left rear tire went flat in the early goings of the feature event.
Hanging on all she could, White would head to the pit area under a late race caution to get a new tire, but with minimal laps remaining in the event, her Chili Bowl would come to a close with a 20th place finish.
“It was unfortunate to have bad luck on the final night, of what was a really good week for our team,” she added. “I was super excited to earn the Jason Leffler award on my preliminary night, and have to thank the RacinBoys for that. I also have to, again, thank everyone on this Hard 8 Racing team for all they do for me.”
Harli White Racing would like to thank Mesilla Valley Transportation, Jerry Tucker Roustabout, Lucas Oil, Charlie’s Trucking, PXP Racewear, All Star Cafe, Boyd’s Racing Engines, Race Chic, Crash Enterprises, Outlaw Wings, Super Flow Testers, Simpson, Classic Seagulls UK, Eagle Motorsports, and the Shriners Hospital For Children Gavelston for their support during the 2014 season.
2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-2, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-0.
