PETERSEN MEDIA: With weather in the Midwest making racing difficult at times, Dakota Hendrickson and his Van Dyke Motorsports team managed to get a couple night of racing in as Hendrickson scored a 13th place finish at the I80 Speedway before having some troubles at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night.

“Harley and Carson gave me a great racecar all weekend, I just made a mistake on Sunday night, and it kept us out of the feature event,” Hendrickson said.

Battling the Nebraska 360’s on Friday night, Hendrickson would pick up a seventh place finish in heat race action, before lining his Lucas Oil/K&N Products/JRI Shocks backed No. 5h machine up in the seventh row of the feature event.

When the race went green, Hendrickson would battle with the likes of Seth Brahmer, and Jeff Carlson as he battled for a spot in the Top-10. With things not going his way, Hendrickson would close his night with a 13th place finish in the feature event.

With Knoxville Raceway raining out for the third consecutive weekend, Hendrickson would return to action at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night for the Brandon, SD track’s season opening event.

Lining up at the back of his heat race, the Omaha, NE driver would finish in the fifth spot, and miss out on the transfer to the feature event.

Making a stop in the B Main, Hendrickson would line his No. 5v up on the front row of the B Main, and would get off to a great start, as he led the race early. Working on the high side of the speedway, Hendrickson would hook the cushion and bring his machine to a stop, forcing him to restart from the tail end of the field. Though he was able to pick up some positions, Hendrickson’s weekend would come to a close with a sixth place finish in the semi-main.

“I hate that I took us out of a transfer spot on Sunday night,” Hendrickson added. “The guys worked hard, and I feel like I let them down. Hopefully the weather is nice this weekend and we can get a few more nights of racing in.”

The Van Dyke Motorsports team would like to thank Lucas Oil,  K&N Products, JRI Shocks, NAAKE Suspension, FSR Radiators, for their support during the year.
