PETERSEN MEDIA: Though it says 15th on the results sheet, Dakota Hendrickson was pleased with how he and his Van Dyke Motorsports team ran at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night.

“We ran in the sixth spot for much of the race, but I got into a hole and upset the car late, and we ended up finishing in the 15th spot,” Hendrickson said. “Overall, we are very pleased with the direction we are heading.”

With rain wreaking havoc on the Midwest over the weekend, Hendrickson and his Van Dyke Motorsports were able to get to the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night. Hendrickson got the team’s night started off great by timing the Lucas Oil/K&N Products/JRI Shocks No. 5v machine in fourth fastest.

Running fifth in his heat race from his sixth starting spot, the Omaha, NE driver would line up in the fourth row for the feature event. As the race came to life, Hendrickson would work into the sixth spot as he looked to get into the top-five.

As the laps clicked down, Hendrickson ran a very strong race until he got into a hole and got his machine out of shape. Once he gathered it back up, Hendrickson would find himself back in the 15th spot where he would eventually finish.

“It is great to be heading in the right direction, now I just need my luck to change a little,” Hendrickson added.

Hendrickson and the Van Dyke Motorsports team were also able to get a night of racing in on Thursday night as the NSL invaded Farmington, MO. Timing in 29th quickest on the bullring, Hendrickson would go from eighth to seventh in his heat race and be forced to run in the B Main.

Lining up in the fifth row of the B Main, Hendrickson would see his night come to and end as he finished in the ninth spot.

“It was a tricky track, “ Hendrickson said as he stalked about the St Francis County Raceway. “The bullring threw me off, and I seemed to struggle all night. After how we ran Thursday, Sunday was a very welcome night, and I look forward to racing again this weekend.”

The Van Dyke Motorsports team would like to thank Lucas Oil,  K&N Products, JRI Shocks, NAAKE Suspension, FSR Radiators, for their support during the year.
