PETERSEN MEDIA: After being involved in an opening lap incident that essentially ended their night on Saturday in Placerville, CA, Kyle Hirst and the Tiner Hirst Enterprise team showed their resolve on Sunday as they came back to finish fourth at Petaluma Speedway.
“Saturday night we were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it left us with a beat up car,” Hirst said. “Shut out to everyone on this team, as well as the various other teams, for their hard work, they got us out to make some laps and see what we could get but we had a pretty beat up racecar.”
Bouncing back after a tough night, Hirst and company returned to action on Sunday night for more SCCT action at Petaluma Speedway where Hirst would time the Tiner Hirst Enterprise/Larry Davis Farms/GP Development machine in sixth fastest in his qualifying group.
Working his way to a fourth place finish in heat race action, Hirst would move into the 35-lap feature event where he would roll off the starting grid from the 14th starting position.
On a slick and racy Petaluma Speedway, KH would quick race his way into the Top-10 as he battled the likes of Tim Kaeding and Colby Copeland as the entertaining race found the leaders navigating through traffic.
Continuing to charge his way to the front ,Hirst would find himself in the sixth position as the red flag was needed on the last lap. Now finding himself in the fourth position, Hirst would look to get by Kaeding for the final spot on the podium, but he came up short and capped his weekend with a fourth place finish.
“Great recovery to our night, and that goes to show what our team is capable of,” Hirst said. “We tried some things, tweaked some things, and had a pretty good car in the feature on a track that I struggle on at times. We are in a really tight points battle with Tim Kaeding now, and we will see if we can keep those guys behind us this weekend in Stockton, CA.”
the Tiner Hirst Enterprise Racing team would like to thank Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Larry Davis Farms, GP Development, Wright Process Systems, Fisher Racing Engines, SRP, Wilwood, XYZ Machine, DMI, HRP, Sway Away, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Sway Away, Schoenfeld, Warehouse Paint, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.
