Hirst Hustles To Second at Stockton Dirt Track

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to action with the King of the West Series on Saturday night, Kyle Hirst made some late race moves to finish in the second spot at the Stockton Dirt Track.
“’I have to thank my guys for working hard all night long, and continuing to get our car better,” Kyle Hirst said.
With 20 cars checked into the pit area, Hirst would set the bar in qualifying time trials, as he earned quick time honors aboard the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transpiration/3h Cattle No. 83jr machine.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Hirst would work his way up into the second spot, where he would finish, and earn a spot in the night’s eight-car dash.
Pulling the eight pill, Hirst would better his starting position for the feature event by one row as he would finish in the sixth spot, and line up in the third row for the 30-lap A Main event.
Following a wreck on the opening lap, Hirst would work his way forward once the race got into a green flag run. A tricky racing surface on this night saw cars get strung out, but Hirst was able to work into the third spot on the 15th lap.
A red on the 20th lap bunched the field back up, and it allowed Hirst to close in on second running Tyler Walker. As the duo battled, the red flag would again waive on the 25th lap and the ensuing restart saw Hirst get by Walker to take over the second spot.
In the closing five laps, Hirst would go after the race leader, but did not have enough time to get to him, and brought home a second place finish.
“It was a tricky track to make up ground on, but we were able to move forward, and get on the podium, “Hirst said. “I really have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for continuing to let us have some fun in California, and hopefully we can pick up a win or two in two weeks.”
The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, KW Suspension, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2015.
