PETERSEN MEDIA- One week removed form a wild season opener with his Roth Motorsports team in Tulare, CA, Kyle Hirst again had a nice showing with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series that was highlighted by a third place finish on Saturday night.
“I can’t say enough about this Roth Motorsports team,” Kyle Hirst said. “The guys have given me a great car all three nights out this year, and Dennis and Theresa have really put me in an incredible position so to finish on the podium with this team is really cool.”
Running 10th with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ Friday night, Hirst came out strong on Saturday night, as he was able to time his HR Livestock Transportation/Roth Investments/3H Cattle No. 83JR machine in 11th quick, before running third in his heat race.
Though he did not earn a spot in the Dash, the Paradise, CA driver would line up in the fourth row for the 30-lap feature event as the series only uses a six car Dash when only three heat races are run.
As the race came to life, Hirst would maintain his track position as he raced with Donny Schatz and Bud Kaeding in the early laps. With yellow’s slowing the race within the first 10-laps. And extended run would see Hirst get the Roth Enterprises No. 83JR machine moving as he took a liking to the cushion.
Getting by Logan Schuchart and Kerry Madsen, Hirst found himself in the fourth spot, as he chased after Daryn Pittman who ran ahead of him in the third spot.
Navigating through traffic beautifully, Hirst would set his sights on his Roth Motorsports teammate, Joey Saldana, who was now running in the third spot.
In the race’s final laps, Hirst was able to slip past Saldana in traffic, and when the checkered flag flew on the feature event, he found himself on the World of Outlaws podium alongside Donny Schatz and Darryn Pittman.
“I really have to thank Dennis and Theresa for everything they continue to do for me,” Hirst said. “They have put together a deal for me in 2016 with the Tarlton Motorsports team, so it was great to finish third in the 83JR car.”
