PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking the reigns to the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21x machine for the first time on Saturday night, Kyle Hirst would expeiericne some suspension problems during the KWS feature event at the Placerville Speedway that saw him finish in the 11th spot.

“It was a little bit of a bumpy first night out together, but you kind of expect that with a new deal,” Kyle Hirst said. “Paul Baines and the guys did a great job all night long, and we had some bad luck in the feature that caused for an eventful 30-laps.”

Going out early in time trials on a track that was a little tricky after a storm rolled through the area one-day prior, Hirst would time the Roth Motorsports/Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc. No. 21x machine in 19th fastest.

Having his work cut out for him for the rest of the night, the Paradise, CA driver would finish fifth in his heat race which put in him the 15th starting position for the 30-lap feature.

The start of the race would see Hirst begin to work his way forward, but he would soon develop an issue with a shock that would cause his machine to be difficult to drive.

Pulling wheels lap after lap, Hirst used his veteran savvy to pick up spots where he could as he fought for track position near the Top-10. The sticky surface made Hirst’s task even more challenging, but the two-time series champion did all he could as he salvaged his night with an 11th place finish.

“Unfortunately we had a part fail which is really nobody’s fault, and that made the feature a little more challenging,’ Hirst said. “Hopefully we got all of our bad luck out of the way on Saturday night and now we can go contend for the Bradway win this weekend. I am really thankful for the opportunity both Roth Motorsports and Tarlton Motorsports have given me and am exited for what’s to come.”

Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Motorsports, Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2016 season.

ON TAP: Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team will be back in action on Saturday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA.
