PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21x machine for the first time since claiming the Bradway Memorial, Kyle Hirst rebounded from an early incident on Saturday night to finish sixth at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.
“We had really good speed, it is just unfortunate we got tangled there early in the race and had to go to the back,” Hirst said “Paul Baines and the guys gave me a really good car that should have been battling for the win, but we came back through the field and ended our night with a strong finish.”
Getting his night started off by timing the Roth Motorsports/Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc. backed No. 21x machine fastest in time trials, the Paradise, CA driver would finish third in his heat race.
Finding himself with the seven pill during the Dash draw, ‘KH’ would end up finishing in the seventh spot which would ultimately line him up in the fourth row for the 30-lap feature event.
In search of another Faria Memorial win, Hirst would get off to a great start as the feature event green. Racing his way near the Top-Five and battling with Bud Kaeding on the 10th lap, the two would bang wheels and Hirst’s machine would spin.
Going to the back of the back, Hirst would use a couple of restarts to work his way forward and get back into the mix. Wasting no time cracking the Top-10, Hirst would actually get back into the fifth spot in the closing stages of the race.
Battling for the spot with Jonathan Allard, Allard would get back by Hirst late and would finish his night with a sixth place finish.
“It is kind of a bummer that we had to go to the back, but in our third race together, we are all pretty happy with how quickly things have come together,” Hirst added. “I really have to thank everyone at both Tarlton Motorsports and Roth Motorsports for continuing to support me.”
Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Motorsports, Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2016 season.
