Hirst Sixth at Stockton Dirt

PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back to action with the King of the West Series on Saturday night, Kyle Hirst and his Tarlton Motorsports team would pick up a sixth place finish at the Stockton Dirt Track.

“We don’t see the Stockton Dirt Track get as slick as it did on Saturday night very often, so we tried a couple of things in the feature event and we were just okay,” Kyle Hirst said.

With 20 cars checked in for the inaugural Jimmy Sills Classic, Hirst would time the Roth Motorsports/Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc. No. 21x machine in fourth fastest during qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the second row of the first heat race, Hirst would finish in the third spot and move into the night’s dash where the five pill would place him in the third row for the six-lap event.

Finishing in the fifth spot, the Paradise, CA driver would line up in the third row for the 30-lap A Main event. When the action came to life, Hirst would slick back a little as he found himself racing with Willie Croft and Craig Stidham.

Continuing to work around the slicked off Stockton Dirt Track, Hirst would soon find himself in a torrid battle with Justin Sanders as he worked his way back towards the Top-Five.

With rubber starting to go down on the speedway, Hirst would get into the sixth spot, where he would end up taking the checkered flag on this night.

“I have to thank all the guys on this Tarlton Motorsports team for their hard work,” Hirst said. “They had both cars in action on Friday night, and then we had the KWS race on Saturday, so it was a busy weekend for them. We had a decent night, and hopefully we can get back to victory lane this coming weekend.”

Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Motorsports, Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2016 season.

ON TAP: Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team will be at the Ocean Speedway on Friday night, and at the Calistoga Speedway on Saturday night.
