(Hanford, CA)- Saturday night the Central Valley’s longest standing winged sprint car event returns to the Keller Auto Speedway after a year long hiatus as the 30th Annual Cotton Classic is set with King of the West 410 Sprint Cars and the Lightning Sprints on the card.

In what will be the King of the West Series’ penultimate event, the championship fight is far from decided as Carson Macedo brings a slim 20-point lead over the freshly minted Trophy Cup Champion, Bud Kaeding.

During the series’ visit one month ago, it was all about Fresno, CA wheelman, Dominic Scelzi who absolutely dominated the 30-lap feature event, and will look to back that performance up and claim his first Cotton Classic win this weekend.

That night also saw Kaeding suffer a DNF, and allow Macedo to retake the point lead that has gone back and forth over the last seven races. Both Kaeding and Macedo are coming into the Cotton Classic off of stout showings at the Trophy Cup, and both will be seeking their first Cotton Classic triumphs as they try to distance themselves from eachother.

Another driver that is seeking his first career Cotton Classic win is Kyle Hirst. Hirst has frequented the Keller Auto Speedway a few times in 2015, and has been strong. With one win to his credit, Hirst will look to build off of a second place run two weeks ago during 360ci action as he seeks his sixth KWS win of the season.

Two drivers that have been dominant at this race over the years are Tim Kaeding and Jonathan Allard. Both drivers have captured the cotton bale trophy on three separate occasions, and they will both be seeking their fourth this Saturday night.

In what will be the final visit at the Keller Auto Speedway in 2015, drivers expected to be on hand aside from the aforementioned include DJ Netto, Cory Eliason, the series’ most recent winner, Tyler Walker, Ryan Bernal, Chase Johnson, Craig Stidham, Shane Golobic, Scott Parker, Sean Watts, and many more of the regions top 410ci drivers.

Joining the King of the West Series on Saturday night will be the Lightning Sprints, which will be making their first appearance of the season at the mighty 3/8 mile facility.

With a 1200cc engine bolted into the frame rails of a micro sprint chassis, the Lightening Sprints should put on an excellent show as they battle wheel to wheel in an open show.

Saturday night the front gates will open up at 430 pm with General Admission tickets going on sale for $20, Students and Seniors tickets for $15, and always kids five and under will be admitted for free. Cars will be on the track by 530, with racing action slated for 7pm.
