PETERSEN MEDIA- Hitting the road and traveling with the World of Outlaws, Ian Madsen and KCP Racing enjoy when the series heads to the Marion County Fairgrounds in Knoxville, IA and competes at the Knoxville Raceway, the home track for the team.

“Getting back to Knoxville is really great,” Ian Madsen said. “It is our home track. It is in front of so many of our partners, friends, and family, and it is where the team literally got started. We are coming off a pretty rough weekend so definitely looking forward to two nights back at Knoxville Raceway this weekend.”

Winning the Knoxville Raceway Track Championship in 2014 and then again in 2017, the season before hitting the road, Madsen and company head into this weekend’s twin billing at the ‘Mecca of Mud’ sitting eighth in series point standings.

Over this past weekend, the team was in action in Grand Forks, ND at River Cities Speedway where Madsen would finish 15th.

Saturday night the team had a hard fought night at Granite City Speedway. Madsen timed the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed entry in fourth quickest in time trials, but a heat race issue would put the St. Marys, NSW driver deep in the field as he started 22nd.

Poised to overcome the early issues, Madsen had his elbows up. The 2018 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, had a strong car underneath him and it was apparent as he carved his way through the field.

Madsen would cap a KSE Hard Charger effort by crossing the finish line in the 10th position.

“The guys are working extremely hard, we have pretty good speed, so we are confident we can get back on track this weekend in really familiar territory,” Madsen noted. “Thanks to everyone for their support, and the boys for continuing to work so hard.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1  Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
