PETERSEN MEDIA- The KCP Racing team has ran well thus far in their season opening stint with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. With two more nights under their belts, Ian Madsen was able to pick up a pair of Top-10 finishes at the Las Vegas Dirt Track.
“It has been a great start to the season for us, and I am hoping we can keep at it and get even better,’ Ian Madsen said.
A rare Thursday-Friday race week in Las Vegas was the latest battle for Madsen and the KCP Racing team, and it got off to an extremely nice start Thursday night as Madsen timed in second fastest overall in time trials.
Picking up the win in heat race action aboard the Logan Contractors Supply Inc./Aspen Aire/Team Kline Electric backed No. 18 machine, Madsen would move into the Dash where he would finish in the third spot.
By way of his Dash finish, Madsen would grid the field from the second row for he 30-lap feature event on an extremely rough racing surface. Turning in a strong performance while navigating some tricky conditions, Madsen would close the night with a sixth place finish.
Friday night would again see the Australian driver get off to a nice start. Timing in third fastest overall in qualifying, Madsen would finish third in his heat race and find himself in the fifth row of the feature event.
On an extremely smooth and slick racing surface on this night, Madsen would find himself battling Brad Sweet and Kerry Madsen as they jockeyed for position in the Top-10.
Turning in another solid performance, Madsen would close the two nights of racing out with an eighth place finish.
“We continue to run well, and turn in extremely consistent finishes,” Madsen added. “Some of these places we have never seen before or we have and we have struggled, so it is nice to put these strong runs together.”
Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Team Kline Electric, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, Flatrate, Inc., Bergen Paulsen, Coverage Direct, Finer Cuts Lawn and Landscape, Lucas Oil, and Revolution Race Gear for their support this season.
