PETERSEN MEDIA- Continuing his Rookie campaign with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, Ian Madsen would record a Top-10 on Friday night at Lake Ozark before a 12th place run Saturday night at Salina Highbanks.

“Friday was a decent night for our team,” Madsen said. “It is good to start picking up Top-10’s. Saturday night we were okay, but it took rubber and we kind of got stuck back in 12th.”

A two-race weekend for ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ kicked off with Ian Madsen timing the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 entry in 12th fastest in time trials.

Running fourth in his heat race, the two-time Knoxville Raceway Champion would find himself 12th on the starting grid for the first World of Outlaws feature at the speedway in 11 years.

Quickly jumping into the Top-10, Madsen would find himself racing with Sheldon Haudneschild, Brad Sweet, and Logan Schcuchart at times as they fought hard for position. Continuing to fight inside the Top-10, Madsen would close Friday night out with ninth place finish, marking his fourth Top-10 of the season.

Saturday night the scene shifted to Salina Highbanks in Salina, OK and Madsen would time in 12th fastest for the second night in-a-row. Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Madsen would maintain and finish fourth putting him 12th on the starting grid.

A slick surface on the high-banked speedway would soon turn abrasive and ultimately take rubber. As the rubber would go down, Madsen would be forced to get in line and parade around in the rubber as he was outside the Top-10 and looking in.

Trying to make a couple of sneaky moves, Madsen would find no avail as he would take the checkered flag with a 12th place finish on this night.

“Its frustrating to get on some of these tracks and have them take rubber, but we all have to deal with it,” Madsen added. “Looking forward to getting to Eldora this weekend and getting to a place we are a little more familiar with.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Team Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Bobcat, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, Finer Cuts Lawn and Landscape, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, Bergen Paulsen, Coverage Direct, Revolution Race Gear, Monarch’s, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
