PETERSEN MEDIA- Back in action with the NSL 360ci series over the weekend in Moberly, MO, Ian Madsen overcame an issues in his qualifier to charge from his 14th starting position to earn a sixth place finish in the feature event and earn Hard Charger Honors for his efforts.

“We had a really strong racecar all night long, and it’s a shame we didn’t get our spot back in the qualifier with our safety issue,” Madsen said. “Nonetheless we did what we could and charged from 14th and had a respectable finish.”

Lining his Logan Contractors Supply/Aspen Aire/Team Kline Electric No. 18 machine up in the fourth row of his heat race, the St. Marys, NSW native picked up a couple of valuable positions as he would finish fifth spot and pick up all-important finishing points.

Moving into the qualifier, the Royal Flooring/Bobcat/TammyHeckart.com backed machine gridded the field from fourth row, and quickly worked into the fifth spot. Just a few laps in, Madsen would come to a stop with a seat belt issue and would end up being forced to the tail end of the field where he would rally back to finish in the seventh position.

Qualifying for the feature event, Madsen would line the Caliber Iowa/QTC/Flatrate entry up in the seventh row for the 30-lap ‘A’ Main event. Just as he had done all night, Madsen had his elbows up and was able to make headway as he marched through the field.

Wasting no time moving into the Top-10, Madsen would look for more as he surged forward. Aboard a very strong KCP Racing entry, Madsen would get into the sixth spot where he would take the checkered flag.

“Coming from the back any night is tough, but thankfully my guys gave me a car that could really move around,” Madsen said. “It was a good final tune up to kick our NSL 410ci season off this coming weekend.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Team Kline Electric, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, TammyHeckart.com, Caliber Iowa, Quality Traffic Control, Flatrate, Inc., Speck USA, Bergen Paulsen, Coverage Direct, Lucas Oil, and Revolution Race Gear for their support this season.
