Ian Madsen Second Against All Stars with Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting the call to fill in for Josh Baughman over the weekend against the All Star Circuit of Champions, Ian Madsen would have a great showing on Friday night in Wilmot, WI where he ran second, before running ninth in Plymouth, IN after getting upside down.

“It was an absolute pleasure to get the nod to fill in for Josh Baughman over the weekend, and I have to thank everyone at BRM for the opportunity,” Madsen said. “We had a really good car all weekend long, and I was happy I could pick up a podium finish for the team. BRM is a great organization with same great equipment, and great people in place.”

Piloting the Fisher Body Shop/Hollywood Blasting and Coating entry with the All Star Circuit of Champions over the week as Josh Baughman had work obligations, Madsen would have a strong showing on Friday night at Wilmot Raceway.

Charging from his sixth starting position, Madsen would race his way into second where he battled with Cory Eliason late in the feature for the race win. Unable to get by Eliason, Madsen closed his first night out with BRM with a second a place finish.

Traveling to Plymouth, IN on Saturday night, Madsen would continue to flex his muscle in the BRM No. 17 machine as he timed in second fastest in time trials, before running fifth in his heat race.

Lining up third in the feature event due to his third place run in the Dash, Madsen would get into trouble on the opening lap as his machine got upside down in turn two.

With the BRM crew able to make repairs, Madsen would restart from the tail end of the field. Working his way through the field, Madsen would race back into the Top-10 as he closed the night out with a ninth place run.

“Big thanks to these guys for their hard work in the work area after my mistake on the opening lap,” Madsen said. “Again, really thankful for the opportunity to race with BRM, and hopefully they think of me if the opportunity presents itself again. As for what’s next for me, I really don’t have anything lined up at the moment, and am interested in any opportunities to race in the coming weeks.”
