PETERSEN MEDIA- In action three more times with the National Sprint League over the weekend, Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team continued to run well with the series, as Madsen finished fourth on Friday night before back to back sixth place efforts.

“I was pleased with how our weekend went,” Madsen said. “Like last week, the draw just did not seem to go our way, and we were coming from the fourth or fifth row each night.”

Friday night at the Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, MO, Madsen would line his Nehring Construction/Team Kline Electric/Logan Contractors Supply No. 18 machine up in the fourth row for the 30-lap feature event.

On a racy surface, the St. Marys, NSW driver was able to get moving forward as he raced his way well inside the Top-Five, and walked away with a fourth place effort.

Madsen would open Friday night up by earning quick time honors, and racing from fourth to second during his heat race.

Saturday night would be the Knoxville Raceway season finale along with the NSL Series. Timing the Greenland Homes of IA/Royal Flooring/Aspen Aire Inc. backed entry in fifth fastest, ‘Dyno’ would struggle in his heat race as he finished in the seventh position.

Winning the B Main from the front row, Madsen would advance to the feature event where he gridded the field from the fifth row. Again able to move forward, Madsen was race his way to a sixth place finish on the historic ½ mile facility.

Sunday night, Madsen and the NSL would check into the Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI, a track Madsen was victorious at earlier in the season.

42 cars would enter this event, and Madsen would get his night started off by timing in 11th fastest. Lining up fourth in his heat race, Madsen would put on an impressive charge as he worked his way forward and earned the heat race win.

Lining up ninth in the feature event, Madsen would work his way forward as he took over the sixth spot and hooked up in a battle with Bryan Clauson for the fifth spot. Going back and forth with Clauson, Madsen would take the checkered flag with a sixth place effort.

“We went forward all weekend long, and hopefully we can continue to do that at the Jackson Nationals this weekend, and go for a big win for our team,” Madsen added.

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Nehring Construction, Team Kline Electric, Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Greenland Homes of Iowa, Royal Flooring, Aspen Aire Inc. Heating and Cooling, Bobcat, The Stone Shop, Gator Excavating, TammyHeckart.com, Van Gorp Construction, Caliber Iowa, Quality Traffic Control, Flatrate, Inc.,  Speck USA, Kustom Concrete Pumping, Lucas Oil, Revolution Race Gear, INSPRO Insurance, Monarchs Restaurant and Lounge, Climate Master- Geothermal Heating and Cooling,  XXX Race Co., Wings Unlimited for their support this season.
