PETERSEN MEDIA- Jonathan Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team ran well with the Civil War Series over the weekend as Allard would finish third on Saturday night and fifth on Sunday night.

“We were really good both nights, and probably should have finished on the podium Sunday too, but the driver made a mistake in traffic,” Allard said. “I just cant begin to explain how proud I am of Lee and Shane for how hard they have worked and how much they have got us pointed in the right direction.”

With 39 cars on hand at the Marysville Raceway on Saturday night for the 17th Annual Mel Hall Memorial, Allard would qualify right in no-man’s land as he would be eighth fastest on the speed chart.

Lining up in the fourth row of his heat, the Chico, CA driver would race his way to finish second in his heat race, lining him up in the sixth row of the feature event.

Moving up in the early goings of the feature, Allard would use an early restart to surge into the Top-Five and become a major player in the race as he chased after Cory Eliason Andy Forsberg, and Shane Golobic.

Amidst heavy traffic, Allard would battle with Golobic for the third spot but a late race caution would halt his progress, though a little luck for him would see him get the spot during the stoppage.

Doing all he could in the race’s final 10 laps, Allard would bring his Tri-C Manufacturing/Walker Performance Filtration/All American Powder Coating backed machine home with a third place finish.

Heading to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Sunday night for the Annual Fair Race, a total of 51 cars would be in attendance for this event and with a split qualifying format in place, JA would time in fourth fastest in his flight.

From the second row of his heat race, Allard would be very patient on the slick racing surface, but would find his way into the dash by making a late race pass to pick up the win.

Finishing fourth in the Dash, JA would line up fourth in the 30-lap feature event as he would look to make it back-to-back Fair Race triumphs. When the race came to life, Allard would find himself in a three-car battle for the second spot with Andy Forsberg and Andy Gregg.

Running third in heavy traffic, Allard would close in on second running Forsberg but contact with a lapped car on the 12th lap would see him fall off the track and back to the fifth spot.

Working back in the fourth spot, Allard would slip to fifth in the race’s closing laps.

“I have to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for sticking with me,” Allard said. “It was a tough March and April, but we sure had a pretty good May, and that has us all excited for the summer months.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, Walker Performance Filtration, ButlerBuilt, All American Powder Coating, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-24, Wins-6, Top 5’s-13, Top 10’s-14.

ON TAP: Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team will again be at the Silver Dollar Speedway this coming Friday and Saturday night, with the Saturday night program being the David Tarter Memorial with the KWS Series.
