PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard the Country Builders Racing No. 88 entry at the 26thAnnual Trophy Cup, Jonathan Allard would end up 7thin the final standings when the prestigious event came to a close.
“It truly took a village at the Trophy Cup, and I truly have to thank each and every person that made it all possible,” Jonathan Allard said. “To compete at the Trophy Cup in the iconic Weldon Offill No. 88, and be in the mix was just awesome. To have Randy Furr and Willie Croft Racing let us run their engines meant a lot. Jayson Bright was instrumental in us getting to the track with his truck and trailer. I also have to thank Dillon Paddock, David Aguilar, and Koby for their help in the pits, and a big thanks to Keith and Kim Offill and everyone at Team KO for allowing me to compete.”
With Thursday night getting off to a great start, Allard looked to have a good points night going until a engine issue sidelined him in the feature event.
With Willie Croft Racing offering up an engine, Allard was able to try again on Friday night, and ran very well.
Timing in third fastest in his time trial flight, JA would race his way into the feature event where his fourth place finish set him up very well for the Saturday night finale.
Running fourth in his Saturday night heat race, Allard would find himself sixth in points heading into the 50-lap feature event. Lining up 15thin the feature event, Allard would pick up a few positions as his 12thplace finish placed him seventh in the final standings.
“It felt great to get back in a car this year and really be in the mix each time we rolled out,” Allard said. “I definitely feel like I can still get it done behind the wheel, and really thank the Country Builders team for believing in me.”
