PETERSEN MEDIA- Jonathan Allard and his Tri-C Motorsports team took in a pair of 410ci races over the weekend, and after having mechanical issues while running second at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Allard roared back to life on Saturday night, as he set a New Track Record during time trials, before finishing in the fourth spot at the Marysville Raceway.
“We are definitely gaining speed, now we just need some things to go our way, and we should be pretty tough,” Allard explained.
Checking in at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night for the Bill Brownell Memorial, Allard timed his Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt backed entry in third fastest, before recording a third place finish in heat race action.
Pulling the four pill in the redraw, the Chico, CA driver would line up in the second row for the feature event. With the waiving of the green flag, Allard was able to duck to the bottom of the speedway, and move into the third spot, as he chased after race leader, Rico Abreu, and second running, Colby Copeland.
Able to get by Copeland, to the home crowd’s delight, Allard would then begin his pursuit of Abreu, as he looked to cash in on the lucrative pay day. As Allard continued to chase after leader, his machine would come up lame with just seven laps remaining, as a mechanical failure would end his night early, as he would be credited with a 12th place finish.
The Marysville Raceway hosted a 410ci program on Saturday night, and Allard and company made the tow south to go back to work. Setting a new single lap track record at the speedway during qualifying time trials, Allard would then pick up a third place finish during his heat race.
The redraw was unkind to Allard, as he would pull an eight on a very fast, and narrow track. With the race ultimately going nonstop, Allard would flex his muscle, as he carved his way forward, and passed cars which was tough to do.
Getting everything he could out of his Amerikote/King Racing Products/BR Motorsports No. 3c, Allard would get up to the fourth spot, when the fast paced race came to a close.
“With the Bradway Memorial coming up this week, I am glad we are showing great speed,” he said. “It is a very big race, and one that is near and dear to my heart, and I would love nothing more than to park this Clyde and Marion Lamar machine on the front stretch on Saturday night.”
Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment and Hoosier Tire for their support.
