PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing aboard the Dunkel Logistics No. 11D to take part in the Fall Nationals, a race that pays homage to his late brother, Jonathan Allard would come alive during the Saturday night finale and officially be credited with a sixth place finish.

“I really have to thank everyone involved with Dunkel Logistics for making this all possible,” Jonathan Allard said “This race means the world to me and my family, and to have the opportunity to race in it is very special, and to have a car that was capable of getting the job done is icing on the cake.”

Making his first laps with the team during Friday night’s preliminary event, Allard would get off to a nice start as he timed in fourth quickest in his time trial flight with a total of 57 cars in the pit area.

Finishing fourth in his heat race, Allard would transfer into the 30-lap feature event but would miss out on a Dash spot therefore lining him up 11th in the starting grid for the ‘A’.

On a tricky Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Allard would find himself running hard and in a battle for 10th for much of the race. Falling back as far as 12th on an early restart, the Chico, CA native would get back to 11th and battle with Gio Scelzi for a spot in the top-10. Finishing 11th, Allard and company would come back Saturday looking to better their results.

Getting off to a great start on Saturday night, Allard would earn quick time honors in in qualifying flight and take home $300 courtesy of Man Camp Motorsports for his efforts.

Lining up fourth in his heat race, the former Fall Nationals champion would take a liking to the bottom of the speedway as he was able to work his way up to finish second and advance to both the Dash and the 40-lap feature event.

Battling with Gio Scelzi in the Dash, Allard would finish third and find himself in the second row for the final feature event of the year at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Jumping into second when the race came to life, Allard and Bud Kaeding would put on a show up front. Grabbing the lead on the second lap, Allard would see Kaeding get back by him before the caution flew on the fifth lap.

Taking the lead on the restart, Allard and Kaeding would battle with Kaeding able to get back by on the seventh circuit. With the slick track taking rubber early in this one, Allard would search around trying to find a way around Kaeding and he would find himself battling with Willie Croft and Shane Golobic for position. Setting into the fourth spot for much of the race, Allard would fall back to fifth just past the halfway point and would fall to sixth just before the final caution of the night came on lap 25.

Moving back into the fifth spot following a lap 25 restart, Allard would get to fourth on the white flag lap and take the checkered with a fourth place finish. However, post race it was determined that Allard jumped the restart on lap 25 and with no cautions to penalize him, he was put back to sixth officially.

“I have to thank Matt Britt, and everyone who worked on this car all weekend, and have to thank the Dunkel’s again for the opportunity,” Allard said. “We had a great car all weekend and it was a pleasure to work with them.”

Allard would like to thank Walker Performance Filtration, ButlerBuilt, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.
