Jacob Pacheco and GWR 6th at Santa Maria Speedway

(PETERSEN MEDIA)- Making the trip to Santa Maria Speedway on Saturday night, Jacob Pacheco would climb aboard the GW Racing No. 12 entry and come home with a sixth place finish.
“Saturday night went pretty good,” Jacob Pacheco said. “I got off to a little bit of a slow start, but the GWR guys gave me a really good car in the feature event and I was able to keep my nose clean and finish sixth.”
Timing the Speedway Motors/CS9/F&J Schott Trucking entry in 12th quickest in qualifying time trials, Pacheco would go on to finish sixth in heat race action.
Moving into the feature event, Pacheco would line the GWR machine up in the sixth row. When the green flag was displayed to the field he would get off to a nice start as he passed a couple of cars early and settled into the Top 10.
With action getting a little tense in front of Pacheco during the course of the feature event, he would do a great job of avoiding the carnage as he would pick up a couple of free positions.
Continuing to adapt to a full size sprint car on foreign surface, Pachecho would record his best finish of the season as he would finish sixth on this night.
“The car was really good in the feature and we grabbed some sports early,” Pacheco said. “There was a couple of ugly wreck in front of us, and thankfully we were able to stay out of them. I am pretty happy with the finish and am looking forward to our next race. I have to thank Tim with GWR, and my family and friends for their support. I also want to with Jim Christian a speedy recovery after his accident in another race at Merced Speedway.”
With Santa Maria now in the books, GWR will set their sights on Second Star to the Right Night at Bakersfield Speedway on Saturday night as Marcus Thomas and Rob Solomon climb aboard GWR entries.
“I have been pleased to see our progress this year so far with Jacob Pacheco and Marcus Thomas,” GWR’s Tim Williams said. “I am excited to have Marcus back out here this weekend, and am looking forward to seeing what Rob can do while he gets his CS9 house car finished up.”
GWR would like to thank Speedway Motors, CS9, System1, F&J Schott Trucking, Hoosier, Simpson, ButlerBuilt, Capitol Renegade, David Williams Welding, Petersen Media, Fagundes Auto Body, Blanchard Dozing, and Willwood Brakes for their support.
2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-5, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-3
