James McFadden Nets Second Podium of 2022 Season During Texas Two-Step

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to racing action over the weekend following a weekend rainout, James McFadden had another solid weekend with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series that culminated with a third-place finish one night after enduring a flat tire while leading at Cotton Bowl Speedway.

“It was another solid weekend for our team, and we really have some good car speed right now,” James McFadden said. “Friday night was really tough cutting a tire while leading. It is tough to pass at Cotton Bowl Speedway, but we went to the back and salvaged a decent finish.”

Getting back to work after last week’s events were rained out, McFadden kicked the ‘Texas Two-Step’ off by timing the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/Roth Investments backed No. 83 machine in second fastest in qualifying time trials.

Powering his way to a heat race win, McFadden would then record a third-place finish in the DirtVision Fast Pass Dash which would put him in the second row for the feature event.

Out front, McFadden set a torrid pace however bad luck with rear its ugly head on the eighth lap as the 2021 Rookie of the Year slowed with a right rear flat.

With a strong car underneath him, McFadden wasted no time working his way towards the front on the slicked off racing surface. Trying several different lines in turns three and four, McFadden was able to close in on the lead duo of Sam Hafertepe Jr, and eventual race winner, Carson Macedo.

Though he was unable to get to them the challenge for the top spot, McFadden would cap his weekend off with another podium finish as he closed the trip to Texas out with a third place finish.

“It was great to close our weekend off back on the podium,” McFadden added. “I made a couple of mistakes that cost me a chance at battling for the lead, but it was a really technical track. I kept trying different lines which made it fun, and it worked out. Huge thanks to Dennis and Teresa Roth for this opportunity. I am excited to run so close to the Roth Motorsports home base this weekend.”
