Jarrett Soares 14th at Petaluma
PETERSEN MEDIA- A week after failing to make the feature event at the Bradway Memorial, Jarrett Soares returned to action with the King of the West Series at the Petaluma Speedway and worked his way forward from his 19th starting position to finish 14th.
“It was nice to get into the feature event, and get some good laps, and move forward,” Soares said. “We didn’t get timed in well, so that is something we can look to build on.”
Going out early on the greasy Petaluma Speedway surface for time trials, Soares would get his American Tool & Mfg/Performance Powder Coating/A.R.T. No. 12 machine timed in 19th fastest.
Lining up in the fourth row of his heat race, Soares would race his way to a sixth place finish, putting him in the 10th row for the 30-lap feature event. On a track that stayed hooked up, but featured two nice racing grooves, Soares would get his machine moving forward, as he slowly picked up positions.
In a fast paced feature event, Soares would find himself flirting with the Top-10 late in the feature event, until his machine got out of shape in turns one and two and he lost a few positions.
Gathering his machine up, Soares would settle into the 14th spot, where he would ultimately finish.
“Still getting the hang of it all, I was really happy with how things went,” Soares added. “Each week we try and get better, and now we will look forward to Tulare, and see what we can do.”
