PETERSEN MEDIA- Jarrett Soares returned to action with the King of the West Series on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway, and was able to transfer from the B Main event, and score a 17th place finish in the 30-lap feature event.
“Overall I think our weekend went well,” Soares said. “We shook down our new engine, and were ultimately able to move forward during the night.”
With 31-cars checked into the King of the West’s first full points event on the season, Soares timed his American Too & Mfg./Performance Powder Coating/A.R.T. backed No. 12 machine in 20th quick.
Lining up in the fourth heat race, Soares would finish sixth, and be forced to make a stop in the night’s B Main event, where he would finish sixth, and move into the 30-lap A Main event.
Lining up in the 20th position, Soares would continue to work around the tricky ¼ mile bullring, as he would find himself battling with the likes of Jason Statler, and Brent Kaeding at times late in the race.
Still with the goal of making good laps, Soares was able to do that as he would end his night with a 17th place finish.
“We ended up with a 17th place finish, and were able to survive most of the feature event,” he added. “It was great to get more laps under my belt, and I am excited for Wednesday night.”
Jarrett and his Soares Motorsports team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., Performance Powder Coating, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, Simpson Race Products, McMahan Motorsports, CSI Shocks, and Brad Scadden Designs for their support.
ON TAP: Jarrett will be back in action on Wednesday night in Placerville, CA.
