PETERSEN MEDIA- Jarrett Soares showed speed during two nights of action with the Kings of the West Series. Struggling a little bit during the Saturday night in Hanford, CA, Soares would have a nice showing at the Stockton Dirt Track that saw him finish in the ninth spot.

“Overall, I thought our weekend went well,” Jarrett Soares said. “We qualified in the Top-10 both nights, and Sunday night I was really happy to put a full night of racing together.”

Kick starting his weekend on Saturday night at the Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA, Soares would time the American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating No. 12 machine in eighth fastest.

Slipping back to finish in the eighth spot of his heat race, Soares would line up in the eighth row for the 30-lap feature event. On a slick speedway, Soares would focus on adapting to slick conditions. From his 16th starting spot, the Discovery Bay, CA driver would patiently work his way forward as he finished in the 12th spot.

Heading to the Stockton Dirt Track on Sunday night for the Tribute to Leroy Van Conett, Soares would again time in well as he laid down the seventh fastest lap of the night.

Finishing third in his heat race, Soares would grid the field from the fifth row for the 30-lap feature event.

Following a lengthy sun-break that would allow track prep crews to groom the 3/8 Stockton Dirt Track, a beautiful surface was presented to Soares and the field for their feature event.

Holding strong in the feature event, Soares would spend much of the night fighting for position within the Top-10. Battling with his teammate Bobby McMahan at times, Soares would take the checkered flag with a ninth place finish.

“It was great to get my team a Top-10,” Soares added. “My guys have been working so hard for me, and have really given me a good car each night out. They have been pretty patient with me, and have helped me a ton so far this year.”

Jarrett and his Soares Motorsports team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, and Brad Scadden Designs for their support.

ON TAP: Soares will be back in action with the King of the West Series on Saturday night at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA.
