PETERSEN MEDIA- Opting to run close to home over the weekend, Jarrett Soares and his team made the trip to the Antioch Speedway where Soares went on to pick up a second place finish.
“It was a weekly show at Antioch that only had 10 cars, but it was bigger then a second place finish,” Soares said. “It was good to get out to another track and get laps. That is key for me, making laps and limiting my mistakes.”
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Discovery Bay, CA driver was able to make a few swift moves to move into the lead and pick up the win, which would put him on the front row of the feature event.
Lining up alongside Art McCarthy, the duo would drag race into turns one and two when the green flag waived. Falling back into the second spot, Soares would continue to trail McCarthy aboard his American Tool and Mfg/C&H Veteran Enterprises/Powder Coating No. 12 machine.
Taking a couple shots at McCarthy for the top spot, Soares would be unsuccessful, but was able to hand on and pick up a second place finish at the track located close home.
“It was nice to get to Antioch and race close to home,” Soares added. “I really have to thank my family and everyone who continues to support me. More laps is helping me and hopefully we continue to improve.”
Jarrett and his Soares Motorsports team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, and Brad Scadden Designs for their support.
ON TAP: Soares will head to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night to compete in the tracks weekly 410ci action.
