PETERSEN MEDIA: With the smoke clear from a wild Knoxville Nationals celebration, Jason Johnson led the way for numerous winners scoring hardware during the biggest week of the season as the Eunice, LA driver won an epic Knoxville Nationals feature event.
Kicking off on Wednesday night at the Knoxville Raceway, the Knoxville Nationals would be dominated by KSE Racing Products, as every night would see the podium swept by drivers choosing KSE Racing Products.
Shane Stewart would open the week up on Wednesday night by storming to the win during his qualifying night, as Schatz, and Chad Kemenah joined him on the podium.
The success continued on Thursday night as Tim Kaeding captured another Knoxville Nationals preliminary night feature event, as he would fend off Jason Johnson and Terry McCarl during a night where the field raced an impending storm to get the show in.
Friday night’s feature event would see Rico Abreu use his KSE Racing Products to pick up his first career win at the famed ½ mile facilty as fellow KSE Racing drivers Greg Hodnett and Danny Lasoski would land on the podium with him and lock into the Saturday night feature event.
From his front row starting position on Saturday night, Johnson would not shy away from perennial favorite, Donny Schatz during the 50-lap feature event on Saturday night. Use his KSE Black Series Gen2 Steering Gear, Johnson would fend off Schatz’s advances late in the race and lead a KSE Black Series Gen2 Steering Gear podium sweep on the biggest night of the year. Not only did drivers on the podium chose KSE Racing Products, but 14 of the top 15 finishers chose KSE Racing Products with the big money on the line.
With Johnson scoring his first career Knoxville Nationals crown, it was a familiar face in 360 Nationals victory lane, as Sammy Swindell used his KSE Racing Products to open up the festivities, as Shane Stewart would win his second Capitani Classic and Daryn Pittman would capture another Front Row Challenge victory.
