PETERSEN MEDIA- As the calendar inches toward 2018, Quilcene, WA driver, JJ Hickle looks back and reflects on a great 2017 season that saw him capture wins aboard the Doug Rutz 8r, the Richard Samure No. 39c, as well as his own No. 3 entry.

“2017 was a great year, and I really have to thank Doug Rutz, Richard Samure, and Randy Pierce for allowing me to step in and driver for them at times,” JJ Hickle said. “To win in three different cars in two different countries is a pretty good stat.”

Competing mainly in Oregon and Washington in 2017, Hickle also was able to do a little traveling as well as he made appearances in California, Montana, Arizona, as well as Canada.

While focusing much of his efforts on winged 360ci racing, Hickle also showed his versatility in 2017 as he was able to get back to his roots at Deming Speedway and pick up a win in a Micro Sprint.

In 360 action, July was a big month for the Washington native as we able to pick up three consecutive wins in the heart of the Summer. Hickle started the winning by picking up a win in Great Falls, MT, and Billings, MT aboard the Samure NO. 39c, and then the following weekend he made a trip to Edmonton, AB Canada and picked up the Canadian Gold Cup win at Castrol Speedway in the famed Doug Rutz No. 8r.

Picking up a handful of Top-10 finishes in August, Hickle would return to Electric City Speedway in Great Falls, MT over the Labor Day holiday and score another win at the track, this time in his own machine.

While the win would mark his last of the season, Hickle would close his year out with five more Top-10 finishes in Washington, before closing his season out with the ASCS National Tour in Yuma, AZ where he would make all three feature events.

“It was a good year, and I really have to thank Pat, Ryan, Brett, Hunter, and my dad for all of their hard work and dedication this year,” Hickle added. “Guys like this make this all possible, and I really have to thank them as well as all of our great partners for their support.”

JJ Hickle would like to thank David Parrie, Steve’s Pumpjack, WRD Shocks, Kentch Bros. Racing, Kelly Martin, Doghouse Powdercoating, BigShow Ent., Highline Performance, NW Focus Midgets, and XXX Race Co. for their support in 2017.
