Joel Myers Jr Eyes Adobe Cup at Petaluma Speedway with World of Outlaws Swing Now Complete

PETERSEN MEDIA: With his first career World of Outlaws now in the rear-view mirror, Joel Myers Jr looks forward to a home game this weekend as he will take part in Petaluma Speedway’s Adobe Cup with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour on Saturday night.

“We kind of struggled with the World of Outlaws on Friday night, but we made another feature with them, and did have some positives,” Joel Myers Jr said. “It was an eye opening three weeks, and now I am excited to get back to my home track and try to win their marquee event.”

Heading to Hanford, CA on Friday night to take part in the Tom Tarlton Classic, Joel Myers Jr opened his night up by timing the All About Fire Protection/Hi-Plains Building Division/DirtDudes Excavating backed No. 46jr in 26th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the fourth row of his heat race, the 16-year-old who hails from Sebastopol, CA took care of business as he raced his way into the fifth and final transfer position to lock directly into the 35-lap feature event.

Gridding the field from the ninth row in the Tom Tarlton Classic ‘A’, Myers Jr continued to go to school racing against some of the best in the world as he raced wheel to wheel around the Keller Auto Speedway.

While he was unable to mount a charge through the field, Myers capped his night off with a 21st place finish.

“It wasn’t the night we hoped for but going against those guys on a bigger track is tough because they do it so much more than we get to out here,” Myers added. “I was pleased with how our first stint racing with them went overall.”

This weekend Myers Jr get back to taking on the starts and cars of California as he reunites with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour after finishing Sixth with the series in Chico, CA back on September 7th.

Not only is he back in local competition, but he will also be at his home track in Petaluma, CA for the track’s crowned jewel event, The Adobe Cup.

“Adobe Cup is an event that is special to Petaluma Speedway and one that would be really cool to win,” Myers Jr added. “This year it will be even tougher to win with SCCT sanction, but I am looking forward to it.”
