PETERSEN MEDIA- Heading to the Stockton Dirt Track over the weekend to battle with the King of the West Series, Jonathan Allard would flirt with his first series win of the season, before ending up with a third place finish.

“My guys are doing a heckuva job, and we had a race winning car on Saturday night,” Jonathan Allard said. “We have two more chances this coming week and I think we will be pretty tough.”

With 20 cars in the pit area for the Jimmy Sills Classic that was hosted in Stockton, CA, Allard would time the Tri-C Manufacturing/Walker Performance Filtration/ButlerBuilt backed No. 3c machine in 10th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Allard would pick up the win and earn a berth in the nights’ six-lap dash that would set the first four rows of the feature event. Pulling the six pill, Allard would put on a show in the Dash as he would work his way forward to finish in the third spot and grid the field form the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, JA would run in the third spot as he chased after Mitchell Faccinto and Cory Eliason who ran ahead of him. On the slick surface, Allard would take advantage of a mid race restart that saw him work into the second spot and turn his attention to Faccinto.

With the track taking rubber on the bottom of the speedway, Allard would hit his marks as he continued to hound the young driver who ran just ahead of him. In the race’s waning laps, Allard would get out of the rubber as he tried to make a move, but he would be unsuccessful as he actually lost a spot and now ran in the third spot.

Persistently challenging the lead duo over the last couple laps, Allard would close his night with a third place finish, and move to within 11 points of the KWS point lead.

“It wasn’t the result we came to get, but it was another step in the right direction,” Allard added. “We were able to start up front and run in the lead pack for all 30-laps. We are getting better each night out, and I owe it all to this team.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, Walker Performance Filtration, ButlerBuilt, All American Powder Coating, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-29, Wins-6, Top 5’s-18, Top 10’s-19.

ON TAP: Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team will spend this weekend with the King of the West Series as they are slated to be at the Ocean Speedway on Friday night and at the Calistoga Speedway on Saturday night.
