Justin Sanders 4th at Merced Speedway with Dale Miller Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night in Merced, CA, Justin Sanders reunited with Dale Miller Motorsports as they took on the Sprint Car Challenge Tour and looked to back up their opening round win with the series. In an action-packed feature event, Sanders battled hard for the top spot before capping his night off with a fourth place finish.
“We had a good car all night long, we just didn’t quite do what we needed in the feature event,’ Sanders said. “Thanks to Dale Miller and his team for making the trip down to Merced Speedway, it was a good night overall.”
40-cars checked into the bullring, and Sanders topped the field in time trials as he earned Sierra Foothills Wine Services quick time honors abord the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic Inc. backed No. 4SA.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Sanders simply needed to stay in the top-four to earn a berth in the Dash. Finishing third in his heat race, the Aromas, CA driver proceeded to dominate the field in the High Sierra Industries Dash, and put the Dale Miller Motorsports entry on the front row of the 35-lap feature event.
On the racy bullring, Sanders got the jump early, but would soon feel pressure form youngster, Gage Garcia. As Garcia took his shots at Sanders, Sanders was able to counter each move as he led the first five circuits until Garcia cleared him on the sixth lap.
The action up front was intense as Carson Macedo and Dominic Scelzi were soon in on the battle for the top spot, and Sanders fell back to fifth as he searched around the slick racing surface.
Falling as far back as sixth late in the feature, Sanders would get his elbows up and make a couple of late race moves to net a fourth-place finish as he sits atop with series standings after two events.
Sanders was also in action on Friday night in Watsonville, CA with Mittry Motorsports and was unfortunately involved in an accident in the feature event that ended his night early.
Tuesday night, Sanders headed to 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA with the Swindell Speedlab team and took part in the second round of High Limits Racing action.
Having a great showing in the Victory Fuel Backed No. 39, Sanders timed in fourth fastest before racing to a second-place finish in his heat race.
Qualifying for the Dash, Sanders’ sixth place finish put him in the third row of the 35-lap feature event.
Battling with some of Sprint Car racing’s top talent in the country, the Aromas, CA driver picked up a Top-10 as he closed the night out with an eighth-place finish.
“I am loving these busy weeks, and loving racing so much,’ Sanders added. “I am fortunate to have some great teams behind me, and I’m thankful they all believe in me and are giving me great opportunities.”
The Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Thompson’s Buick-GMC, Thompson’s Jeep-Ram, Dale Miller Septic Inc., North County Plastering, Hangtown Billiards, 24 Hour Road Side Service, Anrak Corporation, Smith Titanium, Frank’s Body Shop, Fisher Racing Engines, Low Voltage Experts Inc., Walker Performance Filtration, Factory Kahne Shocks, Vortex Wings, TJ Forged Wheels, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., King Racing Products, and A.R.T.
