PETERSEN MEDIA- Back in action with Dale Miller Motorsports on Saturday night, Justin Sanders would get the weekly season at Placerville Speedway kick off on a high note as he capped the team’s night with a fourth place finish.
“We are still getting things figured out on this new car, but we are definitely heading the right direction,” Justin Sanders said. “Dale Miller and his guys worked really hard and it shows with a fourth place finish.”
Timing the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic backed No. 4SA machine in second fastest in qualifying time trials amongst the 27 cars checked into the pit area, Sanders would pick up a fourth place finish in heat race action.
By way of his transfer into the ‘A’, mixed with his qualifying effort, the Aromas, CA pilot would qualify for the nightly redraw where the six pill would place him in the third row to start the 25-lap feature event.
When the race came to life, Sanders would make a couple of moves to get into fourth as things moved along rapidly. With the leaders finding themselves in traffic just a handful of laps into the race, Sanders would try to clear a pair of cars battling for position in front of him.
Getting held up, Sanders would show patience though it would allow the Top-Three to break away. Able to finally clear the slower cars, a caution flag would give the leaders clear track again as Sanders would battle the likes of Sean Becker, Kalib Henry, and Andy Forsberg.
Keeping the Dale Miller Motorsports machine in the Top-Five, Sanders would bring his Saturday night to a close with a fourth place finish.
“Traffic was a little tricky at times, and I had to calm myself down and be patient,” Sanders noted. “Things are starting to feel good in this car after two nights, and I am excited to get to Stockton with Dale and Tara Miller, and the entire team.”
The Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Thompson’s Buick-GMC, Thompson’s Jeep-Ram, Dale Miller Septic, Inc., North County Plastering, Anrak Corporation, Yuba-Sutter Aviation, Frank’s Body Shop, Wion’s Powder Coating, Walker Performance Filtration, Factory Kahne Shocks, Smith Titanium, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., King Racing Products, A.R.T.
