Justin Sanders Battles Into SCCT Top-10 at Pacific Sprint Cup
PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back into the seat of Dale Miller’s No. 4SA on Wednesday night to open up The Gold Cup Race of Champions with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, Justin Sanders charged forward on a fast race track and secured a ninth place finish.
“We had an okay night on Wednesday night,” Justin Sanders said. “We were a little off in the feature, but we made the best of it, and we were able to move forward a little.”
With 55 cars packed into the Silver Dollar Speedway pit area, the Aromas, CA driver timed the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic Inc. backed No. 4SA in fourth fastest in his qualifying group.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Sanders maintained the position as he finished third, and locked into the impending 35-lap feature event.
Despite the robust car count, the track continued to hold moisture and stay very fast as the night wore on, making passing tough as the night moved on.
Taking the green flag from the 13th starting position, Sanders was able to avoid some of the early craziness that took place around him.
When the race got into a groove, Sanders was able to work his way into the Top-10 as he got back into ninth on the 28thlap, after slipping back to 11th on the 25th lap.
Maintaining his position in the Top-10 as laps clicked off very fast, Sanders capped the night off with a ninth place finish as the Dale Miller Motorsports team continues to lead the owners points with just three SCCT events left.
“We had a good car still, despite our miscue, and it was good to get up in the Top-10 amidst the point chase,” Sanders said. “Thanks to Dale and Tara Miller, and everyone that helps our team out.”
