PETERSEN MEDIA- With early season weather delaying Justin Sanders’ debut with Dale Miller Motorsports, the Watsonville, CA driver was finally able to take the wheel of the potent No. 4SA on Saturday night in Placerville, CA where he would record a fourth place finish.

“It was a good night working with Dale Miller and his team,” Justin Sanders said. “We had some engine issues but still managed to bring home a good finish. Dale is going to change some things up this week and I am excited to go again this weekend.”

Timing the Thompson’s Auto/RedHawk Casino/Dale Miller Septic, Inc. backed No. 4SA entry in fourth quickest in qualifying time trials, Sanders would race his way from the second row of his heat race to finish second and earn a place in the Top-Eight redraw.

Lining up fifth in the feature event starting grid, Sanders would get off to a bit of a sluggish start as he would slip back to seventh in the early laps on the slicked off racing surface.

Working around the ¼ mile bullring, Sanders would everything he could to work his way forward, but passing would prove to be tricky inside the Top-Five. Getting into sixth late, a restart with five to go would see Sanders finally line up on the outside and pick up a couple of spots quick.

Taking over the fourth position, Sanders would chase after Andy Gregg during the final laps of the feature event, but when the dust settled on the race and the checkered flag flew Sanders would come home with a fourth place finish.

“The bottom was not the place you wanted to be on a double file restart and I was getting pretty furstarted,” Sanders added. “I finally was able to calm down and get into a rhythm and pick up a few positions late. I have to thank Dale and his guys team for all of their hard work and for a great opportunity. Looking forward to getting back to Placerville on Saturday night as I think we can be even better.”

The Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Thompson’s Auto, RedHawk Casino,  Dale Miller Septic, Inc, El Dorado Hills Landscaping, Anrak Corporation, Frank’s Body Shop, Wion’s Powder Coating, Smith Titanium, King Racing Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Motion Media Wraps, Hangtown Sheet Metal and Fabrication, and Vortex Wings for their support.
