Justin Sanders Powers to Seventh Place Finish with Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour

PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting in another weekend of racing in the Midwest, Justin Sanders and Antaya Motorsports would go to battle with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. Friday night Sanders would charge to seventh before enduring a wild crash on Saturday night.

“Friday night I made a mistake and missed the scales after winning our heat,” Sanders said. “Saturday night we were pretty good, but I hung my right rear off the edge and took a pretty wild ride.”

Friday night at Caney Valley Speedway, Sanders would line the Fire Protection Management/Alkaline 88/North County Plastering backed No. 16a machine up in the second row for his heat race.

Putting on a nice run, Sanders would race his way to the win and put himself in the feature. After taking the checkered flag, Sanders missed the scales and was then disqualified and found himself in the back of the night’s ‘B’ Main.

From his eighth starting position, Sanders would flex the same muscle he did in the heat race as he powered his way to the win and transferred into the feature.

Lining up 18th in the ‘A’, Sanders would go to work on the high side of the speedway and pick off cars seemingly at will. Working his way forward, Sanders capped a very hard-fought hard charging night with a seventh-place finish.

Heading to Little Rock, AR on Saturday night to compete at I-30 Speedway, Sanders would pick up a second-place finish in his heat race and find himself in the third row to start the ‘A’.

Running in the fifth position, Sanders would get a lesson in running the top at the high banked I-30 Speedway as he would hang his right rear off the edge of the racing surface and it would result in a wild ride.

Able to walk away from the wreck, Sanders’ weekend would come to an end.

“It was good to have really good speed at some track’s that I have never been to,” Sanders said. “It is never fun to destroy a car, but I am thankful for all of my safety equipment for doing its job. Thanks to Larry Antaya, and all of our partners who made this trip possible.”

Justin and Larry Antaya Motorsports would like to thank Fire Protection Management, Alkaline 88, North County Plastering, Roadside 24 Hour Service, Wicked Cushion, FK Rod Ends, DMI, Triple X Race Co., Walker Filtration, FK Shocks, and Wings Unlimited for their support in 2020.
